Pentland District covers the geographical area of Balerno, Juniper Green, Currie, Ratho, Colinton, Craiglockhart, Baberton, Sighthill, Colinton Mains, Oxgangs, Longstone and Shandon. It is responsible for the Scout Groups and Explorer Units in the District.

The Deputy District Commissioner is Neil Hogg.
