Back by popular demand, Scottish Headquarters are running the brilliant Scouts Speak Up course again this coming February.

One of the most amazing things about Scouting are the stories which young people tell their friends and families about the experiences they have.  There’s something very special about a story coming ‘first hand’ from the person who experienced it, rather than from someone who watched it happen.

Scouts Speak Up in 2016

Could you or a young person you know join our fantastic team of young spokespeople?

That’s why it’s so important that young people are the face of Scouting, and that’s why we’re looking for Explorers and Network members (up to age 22) to represent the Region and attend this media skills training course.

The course will be run at Scottish Headquarters at Fordell Firs on February 18th and 19th and will help participants learn about working with the media and practice interview and presentation skills.  It’s also an amazing opportunity to meet new friends from around the country and have some fun.

The course is an overnight residential, and is fully catered.  There’s no cost to attend and support is available to provide transport to Scottish Headquarters.

If you’re interested – or if you know an Explorer or Networker who would be – please contact Brian Morrison, Assistant Regional Commissioner for Communications at communications@sesscouts.org.uk.  Even if you’re not sure the course is for you a member of the Regional Communications Team would be happy to visit you (or a young person in your Unit) to talk about the course.
