Volunteering – the helping hands our Scout Group needs!

Do you enjoy interacting with young people? Are you a team player with a positive, can-do attitude? Do you enjoy fun activities – from athletics to astronomy, from photography to pioneering? Do you want to do more? Then this is right up your street.

We are extremely fortunate at the Buckstone Scout Group to have active Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts in the area. This is all thanks to our superstar volunteers – the backbone of Scouts. To ensure we continue to deliver a full Scouting experience and thrive, it is imperative that we now focus on finding new Assistants, Leaders and helpers.

There are lots of ways you can get more involved with Scouts as a parent, carer or family member. From helping out occasionally on a family rota or playing a vital role behind the scenes, to stepping up as a leader, our volunteering activities are as varied as you. Some current vacancies include:

* Assistant Beaver Leader – inspire young people to achieve
* Scouts Leader – take the lead and help young people grow
* Group Chair – help make a difference, take charge of the business end!
* Group Treasurer – help keep track of our money
* Group Secretary – put your admin skills to good use

* Waiting List Coordinator – help us ensure that as many young people as possible are able to join

All of these roles will allow more young people to join and benefit from Scouting locally. Can you help? Click below for more on each role.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, demand for Scouting remains strong but we can only continue (and grow) with your help. This is your chance to make a difference and use your personal skills to help young people gain theirs as a Scout Maker. And volunteering goes both ways – you can benefit too.

Please don’t assume someone else will step up, really, we need your help please. Feel free to share these opportunities far and wide, thank you!
