After a long search, Pentland are pleased to announce success in finding a replacement for Hamish Leal, long time Chair at 31st Juniper Green. David Colley has agreed to try to fill some rather big shoes. Currently GSL at 162nd Braid, David is well qualified from his previous roles which include DC at Braid, and from his day job at Midlothian Council in Facilities Management from which he recently retired.
Hamish has been a leader in Scouting all his adult life. His dedication to Scouting, and to the Pentland and former Almond Valley District has been extensive, stretching back to 1964. One time District Commissioner, he has held numerous roles in the former Edinburgh Area, and various international roles. Most recently he has contributed greatly to Bonaly Scout Centre as an Active Support member. He will leave a considerable gap, and his departure will not go unnoticed.
The change will be ratified at the Group’s AGM on 19th September.
