Dates: 18 July 2022 – 29 July 2022
Location: Blair Atholl
Applications (including Scottish staff applications – see below) are now open for the 38th Blair Atholl Patrol Jamborette, Scouts Scotland’s flagship event and one of the longest running international Scout camps in the world.
500 Scottish Explorer Scouts will camp alongside scouts from around the world, working as a dual patrol of 12, in one of six subcamps. There is an exciting programme of activities and the opportunity to form lasting international friendships.
The camp takes place in the stunning surroundings of the Blair Castle estate in Highland Perthshire. Over ten days, you will enjoy a massive range of activities and live events, ranging from watersports and mountain biking to Bushcraft and the infamous Atholl Experience.
Explorers who are selected to attend will get to camp for ten days on one of Blair Atholl’s signature subcamps as part of a joint patrol of 12 – 6 Scottish Explorer Scouts and 6 Scouts from abroad. International participants from all over Europe, North America, and further afield are expected to be in attendance. Many former attendees of Blair Atholl find by the end of the camp that they end up with friends for life all over the world.

Eligibility and application process
The camp is open to Explorer Scouts aged between 14-17 on 18 July 2022. You can be a current Scout and do not need to be an Explorer Scout yet at the time of applying for selection. However, you need to be an Explorer Scout Unit Member by the time of the camp.
Selection is being carried out by Districts and is happening right now, so if you do not yet know about your District’s selection event, you should contact your District Blair Atholl Coordinator as soon as possible.
If you do not know who your District Blair Atholl Coordinator is, please contact the Regional Blair Atholl Coordinator Donald Mackay at firstname.lastname@example.org who will direct you to the right person.
For those selected to attend, there will be two training camps in March and June at Bonaly Scout Centre. There will be an additional advance training camp in February for participants who are selected as Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders.
The total cost of the camp will be not more than £475.
