Whether you’re a seasoned camper or new to Scouting, we offer a range of camping facilities designed to make your stay comfortable, enjoyable, and full of opportunities for exploration.
Bonaly’s outdoor facilities cater to groups of all sizes, with spacious campsites, campfires for evening gatherings, and access to outdoor activity areas. From hiking trails and orienteering courses to our exciting adventure zones, there’s no shortage of things to do just steps from your tent. With modern amenities nearby, including showers and toilets, you can enjoy the rugged charm of camping without sacrificing convenience. Bonaly is your gateway to outdoor adventure, where nature, camaraderie, and fun come together for a truly memorable experience.
Main Field
The main camping field is the central field. It is well maintained and can accommodate up to two hundred campers at any one time and is suitable for groups of any size – from individuals to small groups and larger camps. Around the perimeter there are ten wooden shelters which can be used for cooking or for storing equipment. Each site is provided with an altar fire which should be used for building fires. There are fresh drinking water taps in each corner of the field. There is also a supply of timber that can be used for fires.
Druim Field
The Druim field can also accommodate up to two hundred campers. This tends to be used for back-to-basics green field camping. There are a couple of taps with fresh drinking water. There is a basic toilet block located near to the field, providing ladies and gents toilet facilities.

Amenity Hub
Our Welcome to the Amenity Hub is the central point for all your practical needs during your stay. Designed with comfort and convenience in mind, the Amenity Hub offers modern facilities including hot showers, clean toilets, and accessible spaces, ensuring that after a day of outdoor adventure, you have a welcoming place to refresh and unwind. The Hub provides everything you need to stay comfortable while surrounded by nature.
With easy access from all areas of the centre, the Amenity Hub makes your experience at Bonaly seamless and stress-free, so you can focus on enjoying the adventure.
Campfire
Gather around the campfire for an unforgettable evening of warmth, stories, and shared experiences. Our campfire area is the heart of outdoor adventure, where groups come together to celebrate the spirit of Scouting, friendship, and tradition. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pentland Hills, the crackling fire offers the perfect setting for songs, skits, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Whether it’s the grand finale to a day of exploration or a special moment to bond with fellow campers, the Bonaly campfire is more than just an area—it’s an experience. Bushcraft Village
Whether you’re a Scout group honing your survival techniques or seeking a unique outdoor experience, the Village provides the perfect setting for adventure and learning. You’ll not only gain practical knowledge but also build teamwork, resilience, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
At Bonaly’s Bushcraft Village, nature becomes your classroom, and every activity is an opportunity to embrace the wild and create lasting memories.
Tuck Shed
The Tuck Shop is available from April to the end of September every Saturday evening 6.30pm to 7.30pm. The shop sells sweets, juice and souvenirs.
