Changes to First Aid using the Blended (Hampshire) Model

Please read - updated March 28th 2023

All members should be aware that the Senior Leadership Team in South East Scotland have agreed that anyone using the blended model to complete First Response training will now need to complete all 3 elements within a 6 month period.  If module 10B is not completed within 6 months then 10A will need to be done again.  This is to ensure that the 3 year renewal period for First Aid is honoured within reason.

As a reminder, the 3 required elements are:

  1. Online training available on https://hampshire-scouts.thinkific.com/courses/firstresponse
  2. A single Zoom session to complete module 10A. As at this update, there are currently 2 in the calendar, 20th April, and 24th May.  In addition, Scouts Scotland also runs these sessions.
  3. The practical demonstration, module 10B, lasting around 30 – 45 minutes.  We currently have 2 on 23rd April, 10.30am and 11.30am.  It’s likely more will be added in May or June, depending on demand.

The alternative remains to complete a one-day course that covers modules 10A and 10B.
