Over 250 young people from our Region and Girlguiding Edinburgh are all set for the 62nd Edinburgh Gang Show.
Rehearsals for the Main Gang (Scouts, Guides, Explorer Scouts, Rangers and Young Leaders) have just started and the Junior Gang (Cub Scouts and Brownies) will meet for one rehearsal pre-summer before commencing weekly rehearsals in September.
This year’s show will be directed by Andy Johnston and Louise Hunter. Andy and Louise both started in the Gang Show as cast members and in fact since 1973 the Edinburgh Gang Show has been directed by someone who was a Scout in the show.
Tickets are now on sale from Capital Theatres and we encourage all Dreys, Colonies, Packs, Troops and Units to consider a trip to the Edinburgh Gang Show at the Festival Theatre. Never been to the Gang Show before – give it a go? Not been for a while? Give it a go? Regular attender? Thank you – we’ll see you at the Festival Theatre.
King’s Theatre redevelopment project
The Edinburgh Gang Show first performed at the King’s Theatre in 1960 and until last year every Gang Show (except one) was performed at the King’s (1962 was at the Lyceum Theatre). The King’s is undergoing a major redevelopment to bring it up to modern standards and it’s exciting to see how this much-loved theatre will be transformed. Keep up to date with the developments on the Capital Theatres social media and website. Enjoy this fly-through of the redevelopment
