Leaders Meeting

August saw the fourth annual All Leaders Meeting held by Pentland District at Bonaly Primary School.  Instigated as a way of getting leaders together away from the meeting place, this saw around 80 adults breaking into their sections to plan the year ahead.  The event is when Scouts put together their District camp programme, and Cubs, and Beavers do the same.  It is an opportunity for the GSLs to share their experiences, and the Explorer leaders to meet up.  This is an all too rare opportunity for leaders to meet their peers, from other groups/units and discuss what matters to them in Scouting.

At the start of the meeting Mary Dick, ADC Adult Training. gave an update on training in the District, and the availability of courses from Region.  An update was also given by DESA David Roy on the success of the Young Leaders placements – all Explorers interested in positions have been placed.  A small presentation, and thanks was given to Neil Hogg, the outgoing Acting DC.
