We have two new Regional Assessors for Mountain Bike permits, Barry McAdam and Calum Lorimer.
Calum is a full time staff member at SHQ and an Assistant Explorer Leader at his local Unit:
“I have been a keen Mountain biker for years and spent several summers working full-time as a guide in the French Alps. We have had some great days out biking with our group and I know of several Duke of Edinburgh expeditions done by bike”
Barry is a volunteer at Gilwell supporting the UK Assurance team:
“Everything outdoors is my passion including mountain biking delivering activity either to youth organisation’s or freelance work across the UK and Europe”
“We are both new to the role of Regional Assessor and are keen to help as many people as possible get out with their own Groups whether that be through gaining permits or having a better understanding of what is possible in terrain zero and giving people confidence in their ability to lead groups safely”
