Newtongrange Scout Group are looking forward to continued improvements to their hall on Park Road. Since the start of the year they have received funding from the Borders Railway allowing the full redecoration of their committee room including a new carpet from Kristofferson’s. Over the Summer they also received a grant from the Big Lottery Fund, which along with donations from the three local councillors and McNicoll Van Hire means they are able to replace 15 windows in their Scout Hall. They’re all are looking forward to this huge improvement which will make the hall a much more attractive, and warmer, place to play and meet!
Within the group the Beaver Section has expanded and now has 2 Colonies with over 30 young people attending weekly. This combined with the Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows and Brownies that use the hall mean that over 100 young people use the Scout Hall each week.
The Group is always looking for more adults to help out with a variety of roles in all sections – for more information or to make an enquiry please email the Group at firstname.lastname@example.org.
