Supporting Scouting in the Borders, Braid, Craigalmond, East Lothian, Edinburgh North East, Midlothian and Pentland areas
South East Scotland Scouts offers young people aged 4-25 years an exciting, adventurous programme of activities which encourages interests in outdoor, creative, community based and inclusive activities.
As Scouts, we’re do-ers and give it a go-ers. We speak up, forget the butterflies and go for it!
To do this we help prepare young people with skills for life, supported by a team of amazing adult volunteers.
Explorer Scout Young Leaders are a valuable asset to any leadership team and play an active role in the section alongside adult leaders in a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack or Scout Troop.
There are a number of adult leadership roles, with associated support positions. Leaders, assistants and helpers in all sections are the people who make Scouting happen for young people.
Scouting in the hills: a 24 acre South Edinburgh site providing indoor and outdoor adventure to Scouts, Girlguides & youth organisations
Scouting by the sea: A water sports centre based at South Queensferry (near Edinburgh) providing adventurous activities based around the water for Scouts and Guides.
Edinburgh Gang Show is a major theatre production and is staged at the King’s Theatre with a cast is made entirely of members of Scouting and Girlguiding.

We’re proud that Scouts is a volunteer led movement. Our adult volunteers are the lifeblood of South East Scotland Scouting and by choosing Scouting you can make a real difference to the lives of young people and create a huge impact in communities. We hope that you will join us and gain skills while helping others. Scouting is where ordinary people do extraordinary things.
