Camping, cooking and learning with new faces at Meggernie

Scouts from the 19th, 51st, 100th and 108th Pentland Scouts had a brilliant time at the annual Adventure Camp – this year held at Meggernie, 29th April – 2nd May 2022.

You may have heard of bushcraft, archery and mountain biking, but what about hamster zorbs, hover boards and bubble football? If you want to know what these are, ask one of the Scouts who attended or book for next year!
The Adventure Camp started in 1989 on Arran and was originally a biennial event. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength. Now running every year, it is one of Scotland’s biggest camping event for Scouts. Each year the camp takes on a new location in Scotland. The camp is open to scouts over the age of 11 at the date of the camp.

The camp required scouts to camp in a maximum group of 3 in a lightweight tent. Over the weekend the scouts cooked for themselves in between taking part in a range of different activities. As you can see, the Scouts from our region had a blast along with hundreds and hundreds of scouts from across Scotland.

More information and photos are available here Highland Adventure. Information on Adventure Camp 2023 will be on their website soon.

Well done to the 19th, 51st, 100th and 108th Pentland Scouts Groups on your camping adventures. Here’s to many many MANY more!
