Recruitment of Adults – Group Scout Leaders
During the Region’s development project a number of tools and resources were found and developed to help recruit new GSLs. Here are a sample of the most useful: ideas, possible adverts, leaflets to hand out, an example online ad, and resources for the search process.

Assistant Group Scout Leaders
We also found a number of people outside Scouting who were interested in being Assistant Group Scout Leaders. We advertised these as “Assistant Volunteer Managers”. The approach used was to find suitable AGSL candidates, place them under a good GSL and train them up to be future GSLs elsewhere. We provide an example role outline for an AGSL as no information is available elsewhere.
