Spooktacular Squirrels

Quick links

The Gorebridge Squirrel Scouts – part of Midlothian Scout District – aka (for one night only) witches, devils, cats and bats enjoyed a Spooktacular Squirrel Halloween party on Tuesday 25th October.

We heard the Squirrels cackles of delight as they enjoyed ghoulish fun. The little ones got dressed up in their Halloween costumes, put their fast feet to good use playing freaky fun games, tried their luck dookin’ for apples, pinned the spider on the wall, listened to a spooktacular story and much more.

Thrills, chills and spills were enjoyed thanks to the amazing planning and organisation of the epic leadership team of Erin and Neil Whyte. Thanks also to Rebecca Pennycook who has just joined the team and Euan Fortheringham, an Explorer at the 1st Midlothian, who ran the fancy dress competition part – won by Dracula! And as for trick or treat? Yes! Everyone received a homemade sweetie bat gift, full of sweet treats, to take home.

Check out some of the fun photos below. And if you’d like to join our Scouting fun in Midlothian please get in touch about volunteering today. We need helpers to enable more young people to enjoy Scouting and reduce our ever growing youth membership waiting list. Can you help? It’s fiendishly fun!.
