After 2 years as our Scouting Support Lead, Nacho Luna Borrás is moving on from his role with South East Scotland Scouts this month — and we wanted to take a moment to properly say thank you.

Nacho has been a steady, knowledgeable presence across the region, supporting volunteers and helping our Scouting programme run better. He brought energy, warmth, and a smile that made even the duller parts of the job feel a bit lighter.

One of the highlights of his time with us was supporting the creation of Scotland’s first Sudanese Scout group. Scouting is for everyone — that’s not a slogan, it’s something we have to actively work at. Nacho worked at it.

Martin Elliot, Regional Lead Volunteer, said: “Nacho has been an integral part of our journey as a region, and his contribution to our volunteers has been invaluable. His work has helped us lay the foundations for an exciting future — including our new Scouting programme at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People — and we look forward to continuing that journey with him as a volunteer.”

This isn’t a goodbye. Nacho will be continuing his involvement with South East Scotland Scouts as a volunteer — which, frankly, is exactly the kind of person you want to keep around.

Thank you, Nacho. It’s been a genuine pleasure — and we’ll see you again.
