‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’, as the song goes, and I can hardly believe we are approaching the turn of the year already. It seems like no time at all since we were experiencing one of the worst summers most of us can remember. But it didn’t stop us all enjoying Scouting activities – whether in the hall week by week, or outdoors camping, or going abroad.

As we near the end of 2019, I look back on a positive and eventful year for Scouting in our Region. I am very conscious of all the time, energy and enthusiasm which you, as leaders and supporters, give to helping young people have fun and adventure.

Without your commitment, week in, week out, they would not have the opportunity to be part of this great game we call Scouting. And I am also very conscious of how your involvement has an extraordinary ability to change lives.

So, I would like to thank you for everything that you do for all our young people and for your communities. I wish you, your families and friends, peace, health and happiness at this time and all the very best for 2020.

To everyone who volunteers for Scouting, thank you!
