Our Regional Executive Committee is responsible for the Regional services, finances and buildings. These include Bonaly Scout Centre and Longcraig Scout Centre.

We need a Committee that has people with a wide range of skills, experiences and perspectives to make sure we manage these resources as effectively as possible. It does not matter if you have never been a member of such a committee before. We welcome people who could help us to have the best chance of fulfilling the key purposes of Scouting – to give young people the opportunity to have fun and adventure!

We want to recruit people to join the Committee and become a Trustee and we would like people like you who might not normally think of joining – perhaps because you think you are too young. But that does not matter. If you are over 18 and interested in giving up about 6 evenings a year to assist us manage our resources, we can arrange for you to have a named mentor, to go on courses and learn all about being a Trustee, if you would like this.

Our Trustees are some of the most important people in our Region. They have the potential to enable Scouting to thrive or not. Our 9,500 members in South East Scotland Region depend on our Trustees to make good decisions and provide strong and competent leadership. We need Trustees who will look to the future and assist us to navigate the challenges that Scouting faces, who can challenge one another, bring different experiences, knowledge and ideas – as well as working constructively and enthusiastically as a team.

So do get in touch with John Cannon, Regional Chair, john-cannon2@sky.com or Margery Naylor, Regional Commissioner, margery.naylor@blueyonder.co.uk   to ask for more information, if you are interested.

We look forward to hearing from you!
