Selkirk Scouts have worked hard to raise money for local good causes.
The Haining Volunteers were very thankful for a donation of £200 which was raised by the Selkirk Scouts as part of their Scout Christmas Post. The money will be used to develop and advance the Haining project for the benefit of local residents as well as visitors to the town.
All money received by the volunteers from fundraising such as this is used to buy essential tools, fuel and gardening equipment; sometimes even for the hire or purchase of machinery for larger projects!
Like the Selkirk Scouts, the Haining Volunteers are a highly-motivated group and donations like this boost their motivation to maintain the momentum of their work.
It’s great to see such a fantastic example of partnership working in the local community. If your Group or Unit are doing any similar work please let us know, we’d be delighted to hear about it. Email us at communications@sesscouts.org.uk.
