On Saturday 27th November, over 100 young people from across the 7 Districts in the South East of Scotland Scouts region converged at Bonaly Scout Centre for the anticipated World Scout Jamboree 2023 Selection Day. The groups took part in 10 activity bases which included:
- 2 Site Service Bases (one clearing up the Roman Baths and general site tidying, the other constructing a new invertebrate habitat area for Beavers and Cubs in the future)
- 2 Video Bases (one promoting Scouting and Scouting at Bonaly, the other doing a pitch on a Scottish welcome event at an international camp)
- #PromiseToThePlanet poster (one very long poster with 10 interpretations of how the Scouts can help to limit climate change
- Designing Camp Gadgets in Lego
- Tarp Ten Ways, different ways of using a tarp as a shelter
- Magic Carpet & Noughts and Crosses Relay
- Night Line Water Relief
- Grid Locked People & Designing and Playing a new game.
