First World War Roll of Honour

Remembering the 28 Scouts and adult volunteers from South East Scotland who were killed in the First World War, 1914–1918.

About this Roll of Honour

The names on this Roll were compiled from official information gathered at and shortly after the war, and from information supplied by Scout historians through Scouts Heritage. They include Scouts, Patrol Leaders, Scoutmasters and Commissioners, from Leith and Portobello to Balerno, Musselburgh and Hawick.

Spellings and details follow the original records. Where the records disagree or are incomplete, we’ve shown what is known. Each entry links to a search of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s records, where you can find out more.

We welcome any names that haven’t yet been included and, once verified through the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, we’ll add them. If you know of someone missing, or have more information about someone listed, please get in touch.
