A bit about the role
As part of our strategic goal to actively reduced barriers to membership of Scouts in South East Scotland, we are establishing a new Scouting provision within hospitals, initially focused on the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People. We are working in partnership with the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity to provide Scouting opportunities to young people in hospital.
The Group Lead Volunteer will provide leadership, motivation and guidance to our adult volunteers.
A large part of this role involves managing and supporting adult volunteers, including those working directly with young people. For any adult volunteer in scouting, their manager will be a regular port of call for support
The Group Lead Volunteer also provides direction for the Group and will help others see the bigger Scouting picture through their leadership.
For this Group the Lead Volunteer will also work with the hospital to ensure that the additional considerations required to provide Scouting in a Hospital setting are addressed.
